"Design creates culture. Culture shapes values. Values determine the future"
Robert L. Peters.
India is ubiquitous - be it architecture, tradition, culture or art. The fashion Industry is no exception. Indian designers have been unique and have been inspiring the world by setting trends all across. And to set a trend , it is not necessary to go abroad or work abroad, as fashion holds its roots.
Indian design is emerging as an industry with great potential. It is surely gaining momentum and bringing out subtlety and beauty which has sustained through innumerable decades which is why fashion and design industry is among the largest segment of Indian capital good sector.
Coming to the Indian designers and their future, they need to mark a difference as Anita Dongra very well said in her conversation with GSD...to please everybody is not possible...explore yourself...realize and voice your own talent...and she showed it by making a great difference in her design by shifting them from embellishment to block printed simple outfits.
Other famous names like Manish Malhotra, Sabyasachi, Ritu kumar, Abu Jani and Neeru's are some of the great designers who are bringing back all the amazing things about ethnic wear and in so much style that you really will cry over the outfit. They care deeply about heritage and ethnic fashion. And to top it off their designs are brilliant and best suited for India.
