GSD Admission Guidelines

Four Year Professional Program (Fashion Design Management & Marketing)

Admission to the program offered at The Gurukul School of Design, Jaipur (GSD), is subjected to complete adherence to the following guidelines and processes set for the Academic Year 2018-19. Applicants are expected to abide by these guidelines for mutual convenience and smooth evaluation.

  1. 1.

    Students graduated from Grade 12 (10+2) from any curriculum are eligible to apply. Students currently in Grade 12 can also apply. Visit our website www.gurukulschoolofdesign.com/ for more details.

  2. 2.

    To secure admission at GSD for the Session 2018-19 (Batch 2018-2022), clearing Grade 12 is mandatory, though provisional applications are accepted. Confirmed admission is granted upon submission of Grade 12 mark sheet.

    Fluency in English language is preferred, for the applicant to cope with the academic rigor & international exposure.

  4. 4.

    Applicants should be between 17-25 years of age, as on 1st October, 2018.

Admission Process

    Visit GSD website www.gurukulschoolofdesign.com/ and fill the online application form with your current information.

    Submit the following documents along with your online application:

    Self-Picture…to be uploaded

  4. o

    Application Fee INR 3,500 (non-refundable) to be remitted online.

    Submit Home Exam (Self-portrait & Creative essay) via email at admissions@gsod.in

    Self Portrait – Think of all the unlimited talent that you have and share this artwork with us in the most creative way.

  9. o

    Creative Essay – Tell us about who you are and what your portrait represents in 150 words.

  10. 4.

    Only the completed Application Forms submitted with the Application Fee and Home exam, on or before the Last Date of Application will be considered.

  11. 5.

    Last Date of Application will be published in the “Calendar and Information” section on the GSD website. Applicants are expected to update themselves with the dates on a timely basis.

  12. 6.

    GSD conducts the Entrance Exam at two levels-

    Home Exam (Self-Portrait and Creative Essay)

  14. o

    Situation Exam (conducted at Exam Centre).

  15. 7.

    Upon receipt of the Home Exam, applicants will be registered for the Situation Exam which will be followed by the Personal Interview. Applicants will receive an e-invite for the same.

  16. 8.

    Applicants to carry along the following documents while appearing for the Situation Exam::

    The hard copy of the Home Exam (original Self Portrait & print out of the Creative Essay)

  18. o

    Design Portfolio (6 hand-painted design sketches of menswear or womenswear)

  19. o

    Artwork of any medium (e.g. Photography, Art, Writing, Styling, Film, Illustrations etc.) that highlights the skills you have.

  20. o

    Copy of the Interview call email.


  21. o

    Photocopy of Valid photo ID proof.


  22. o

    2 passport size photographs


  23. o

    Recommendation Letter ( if applying for the scholarship)

  24. o

    Stationery kit – Pencils/ colors/ eraser/ colored pens/ scissors etc.

  25. 9.

    During Situation Exam, applicants have to creatively represent their innovative ideas by using the materials provided at the Exam Centre.

  26. 10.

    Plagiarism or cheating in any submitted assignment for the GSD Entrance Exam will not be tolerated. Applicants found guilty will be disqualified immediately and will not be eligible to apply in the subsequent year.

  27. 11.

    Missing the GSD Situation Exam date or not carrying the required documents during the exam will lead to disqualification from the selection process.

  28. 12.

    It is mandatory for all applicants to clear both the parts of the GSD Entrance Exam to be eligible for admission.

  29. 13.

    Results for the GSD Entrance Exam will be notified to applicants via email.

  30. 14.

    Upon acceptance, to secure admission the applicant is required to pay the due fee amount as per the Invoice within the specified due date. If payment is not made before the due date, the seat will be offered to the next wait-listed applicant.

    At the time of admission the following documents are to be submitted at the GSD Admissions Office in Jaipur :

    Photocopy of valid Passport of the student


  33. o

    Photocopy of valid ID Proof of the student

  34. o

    Photocopy of proof of residence of parents (current address)

  35. o

    Medical Certificate & Declaration by a General Physician, duly stamped & signed

  36. o

    School/ College certificate

    Grade 12 mark sheet

  38. 16.

    Applicants will be confirmed admission subjected to clearance of Registration Fee and submission of all the above-mentioned documents.

  39. 17.

    The validity of these documents and responsibility of correct/accurate information lies solely with the applicant.

  40. 18.

    If the information provided by the applicant is found to be incorrect or inaccurate, GSD reserves the right to cancel any admission at any stage of the process leading to forfeiture of the amount paid.

  41. 19.

    Cost of traveling/boarding/lodging for students or guardians shall be borne by the self.
